2. RESEARCH OBJECTIVES

This study aims to explore the public and professional response to the Environment Agency's online Flood Map. This will involve examining:

a. The process of the user's interaction with the Flood Map
b. How this experience affects the user's awareness of risk and subsequent flood-related attitudes and behaviour.

Based on the preliminary findings of this research alternative Flood Maps will be created, and the response to these maps will also be examined.

The overall objective of this research is to support risk managers in designing information presentation to maximize the benefits to society.
